Our Club 
 
The Comanche Kiwanis Club was chartered on September 20, 1988 under the sponsorship of the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood.

There were 27 charter members: Harold Adcock, Austin Anderson, Danny Armstrong, David Beene, Pete Boutross, Steve Carroll, Darrell Cook, Harry Dudley, Clay Flower, Marc Griffin, Kenneth Hagood, Max Haile, Robert Haley, Sarah Hazelrigg, Truman Hazelrigg, Jerry Hitt, Myrtle Jackson, Bill James, Patricia James, Dr. Dwayne Miller, Jimmy Pate, Wade Pyburn, Dr. Russell Reynolds, Sherry Reynolds, Dendy Scott, Bennie Simpson, and Jerry Woods. Seven are still members today.

 

How is our club Organized?
The club is a non-profit corporation governed by it’s own by-laws and that of Kiwanis International.  The club is managed by the officers and by five members who serve as Directors and who serve staggered two-year terms.  The board meets monthly at a place and time selected by the Club President.  Club officers and directors are elected each year and take care of the day-to-day business of the club as specified in the Club’s By-laws.

 

How is the club funded?

  • Hamburger booth at Comanche County POW-WOW
  • Poinsettias sale for the Christmas Holidays
  • Collection of used ink cartridges for sale to a recycler
